It’s no stranger that we’re large fans of OutKast here at the DopeHouse. One half of the group, Big Boi, is still active and in the public eye (including dropping the video for Big Grams‘ “Fell In The Sun” this week), and he made an appearance on The Dan Le Batard Show on ESPN radio Thursday morning promoting he and Phantogram performing at halftime of this weeks Atlanta Hawks game.

During the conversation, the host asked Big Boi what the biggest sporting event he ever performed at was, and he answered it was when OutKast played the 2004 NBA All-Star Game. He then dropped a bomb saying that OutKast was supposed to perform at a Super Bowl, but they didn’t because Andre 3000 didn’t want to shorten “Hey Ya!” and “They Way You Move” for the performance. Pitchfork pointed out that the Super Bowl OutKast was asked to perform at was the 2004 Super Bowl, which is the year Janet Jackson had Justin Timberlake reveal her breasticle to the world.

Welp.

Head to ESPN to listen to the whole interview, where Big Boi picked a couple lines for this week’s NFL games, too.
