Listen To Just Blaze’s Boiler Room: London Mix

Just Blaze is like many other producers-turned-deejays in the sense that the transition seemed to be as natural as breathing: one whose entire life is revolved around music has, naturally, spent their time around vinyls and/or a Serato box. The thing that makes Justin Smith different from many others is that he is such an aesthete that his sets are a constantly changing kaleidoscope of sonics. One moment he’s running through the samples for tracks he’s provided for JAY Z, Jay Electronica and Saigon in a New York venue, the next he’s fist-pumping or country swangin’ during an international festival.

Just was invited to participate at the Boiler Room’s recent party in London Town alongside the likes of Eric Lau, Tall Black Guy and Roy Davis Jr, and during his hourlong session – where he called an audible on his own set – the veteran producer spun everything from funk to soul, from deep cuts to his own discography. It’s definitely a great listen for a dreary work day, and can be heard below.

And, for those who are the visual type, here is the actual session.
