Twenty-five years ago four men – Q-Tip, Phife, Ali, and Jarobi – released their debut album, People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm. Twenty-five years later, the group – A Tribe Called Quest – still remain as one of the most influential spirits in hip hop, with their impact reverberating throughout the music of today’s top-sellers and notables. Celebrating the album, ATCQ dropped a commemorative reissue of the album, remastered and featuring a trio of remixes from J. Cole (“Can I Kick It?“), Pharrell (“Bonita Applebum“) and Cee-Lo Green (“Footprints“).

Marking their first television appearance and performance in 15 years, A Tribe Called Quest joined The Roots on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon for a performance of “Can I Kick It?” Judging by both the excited introduction from Fallon and the unusually animated (than usual) crowd, some can assume that their set was well worth the wait.
