I can’t say enough about Eryn Allen Kane. She’s quickly become one of my favorite young voices in the music world after appearing on tunes like Saba’s “Burnout” and Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment’s Surf. Today, we get to stream her new project, Aviary: Act 1, as we soar to an emotional high.

We’ve already heard three of the four songs from the EP (“Have Mercy,” “Slipping,” “Piano Song“), so this is more of a celebration of the soulful singer from Chicago getting her first project under her belt. The only tune we haven’t heard yet, “Bass Song,” leads off the EP with a similar theme of the songs that follow: former love and heartbreak. But as the project starts with the initial experience of pain, she later breaks free from an emotional cage on the songs final explosive song, “Piano Song.”

Stream the EP below, and download it on iTunes. I can’t wait to cover Kane’s 2016.

Kane explains her EP, which she describes as the “appetizer before the main course,” below.
