Although experiencing a musical renaissance of sorts with artists such as Cousin Stizz and Michael Christmas, Massachusetts’ boom bap stylings is still as prevalent as ever thanks to the likes of Statik Selektah. Although he cuts his checks doing expansive work for others like Joey Bada$$ and Termanology as well as his own Showoff Records label, he is still more than willing to put on for up-and-comers from his hometown such as Lawrence, MA-reared emcee Progress.
Progress is gearing up to release his new project, U Ain’t Hip, on January 8th, 2016. He’s linked with Statik, as well as veteran spitters Ransom and Ea$y Money, for its visual treatment, which can be watched above.
