Over the weekend, SBTRKT hosted a show on BBC Radio 1 during which he released a remix of Adele’s “Chasing Pavements” that he made in 2008.
In natural SBTRKT form, he turns the bright and hopeful tune into a choppy, slightly haunting sound with exploratory synthesizers and cut-up vocals. The British producer did the remix for XL Recordings, Adele’s label, according to his SoundCloud. With Adele’s new album, 25, dropping last Friday, this is a cool “I’ve worked with her long before she became the biggest pop star on the planet” moment.
