After dropping the quick, grimy, Black Milk-produced cut, “Hate Is Earned,” on Sunday, Wiki of NYC trio RatKing announces his new project, lil me, with the release of “Living With Moms” featuring Nasty Nigel.
As nearly every person in the world has been able to experience, Wiki tells the story of living with his mother in his young-adult years and being humbled by it. As a young dude with a bit of success, he got used to being able to smoke and do whenever he wants, but when he comes back home to momma, he had to retract his usual tendencies (like having to smoke his blunts while hanging out the window while she’s gone from the house instead of smoking them wherever the hell he wants). The rapper told NPR, who premiered the song along with the visual:
“The song’s about being on the road and killing it and then coming back to the humbling experience of living with your mom. I was living with my mom on the Upper West [Side of Manhattan] at the time that I wrote it.”
