Tuesday morning, Spotify announced their Year In Review list, naming Drake the top streaming artist with 1.8 billion streams with 87 million listeners.
Spotify also revealed Rihanna as the top female being streamed on it’s service with over a billion streams, The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness as the top album and Major Lazer’s “Lean On” as the most stream song with 540 million plays.
There isn’t much surprise here with Drake, though. This is what happens when Taylor Swift takes everything off the streaming surface paired with Drizzy dropping two albums (If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late & What A Time To Be Alive) and the summer’s hottest single (“Hotline Bling“).
