It has been said that New York City is the true testing ground for all out-of-town musicians, and when performing live they potentially are subject to some of the harshest critics known to man. For those who are able to escape unscathed and with the adulation of the crowd, the musician has apparently proven themselves worthy of taking on the rest of the world.

In layman’s terms: if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.

For Curren$y, this has never been a problem. Despite hailing from and proudly waving his flag for New Orleans, the easy-going rapper has never had a problem outside of the Big Easy’s borders, bringing his haze-induced rhymes and laid-back demeanor to the delight of many all over. He has embarked on a tour in support of his new album, Canal Street Confidential, and last week (December 3rd) he took his talents to New York’s Irving Plaza with the likes of Bodega BAMZ, Cornerboy P, and newcomers Jimi Tents and Youth Soul Love.
