In November, Chaz French got the ball rolling on his second campaign with Wale on “No Shade” and “What Ya Say” with Saba—both of which, somehow, didn’t make the cut?! Now, after noise with a few singles—”Remember“, “IDK,” and the GoldLink-assisted “Ready“—the DC-based artist comes through with his new project, These Things Take Time.

“My first project (Happy Belated) was about my personal struggles and things I’ve been through. This time around I wanted to speak to the struggles of my fans and people who stumble across my music by addressing the struggles I feel like we all go through,” says Chaz French. “Everybody has some type of struggle and that’s what shapes us as people. We gain strength as we endure the struggle. Just know that the struggle isn’t forever and it takes a little longer to get there when it’s real. All of our blessings are coming… These Things Take Time.”

With a near-fatal car accident and homelessness in his rearview, Chaz has made the most of his 2015. On top of a festival run through Electric Forest, Hopscotch, JMBLYA, Trillectro, SXSW, and the Fashion Meets Music Festival, he’s hit the road on tour legs with Wale, GoldLink, and SBTRKT. And what better way to cap it all off, then by releasing a quality album full of honest and unapologetic expression about your survival living in this crazy world.

I’ve been a fan of Chaz ever since his electrifying “Came Down” video hit my inbox last year, and it’s been pretty awesome to see him grow—both as an artist and with his rank in the game.

These Things Take Time is available for stream below and for purchase on iTunes. I suggest you do both.
