It could be said that D.R.A.M., currently, is one of the most easy-going artists in hip hop music today. Never not smiling, even when he finally opened up on the “Cha Cha”/”Hotline Bling” comparisons – via Twitter – it even felt that the tweets were more jovial than angry. So, naturally, a holiday-themed song from the Virginia native is going to be about as upbeat and sweet as the perfect Nutella-infused dessert.
And that’s what “#1HappyHoliday” is all about. Over some cheery production provided by Bub Ruth, Gabe Niles and Peter Cottontale, the song sees D.R.A.M. airily crooning about the very best parts of the time of the year… as well as the naughtiest ones. Seriously, it is difficult to not smile internally when this song is played, and could fit in with any family tradition alongside A Christmas Story on TBS.
D.R.A.M is also embarking on a GAHDAMN! Tour, in support of his recently-released EP. The six-date tour bounces around Canada, California and New York, and starts with a homecoming show in his native town of Norfolk.
