By the looks of things, YG isn’t straying too far from the heavy West Coast sound of his debut My Krazy Life for his forthcoming re-up Still Krazy, and there is nothing wrong with that. Following the lowrider favorite “Twist My Fingaz” produced by Terrace Martin, YG unveiled the 50 Cent and Nipsey Hussle-guested “I Wanna Benz,” and each have kept in tune with its vintage-inspired gangsta music ethos that has become a Southern California staple.
Now, because according to the picture above he is “off his BS,” YG Fo’ Hunnid releases a new song “City Mad” with Mozzy and Slim400 riding shotgun. Highlighted by some G Funk-inflected piano stabs and a wailing synth, the song is like YG: unapologetically West Coast. YG is on a roll right now, and it is looking like Still Krazy will be a great listen like its predecessor.
As a bonus, he and Slim400 also dropped a freestyle over Goapele’s “Closer,” too.
