As 2015 is coming to a close, it’s time to make end-of-the-year lists. As i reach all the way back to January to remember what the hell came out this year (mind you, Kanye’s “Only One” started off the year, and that seems like it happened years ago), I was reminded of Phony Ppl‘s Yesterday’s Tomorrow and more specifically their soothing and gorgeous single, “Why iii Love The Moon.” The album came out in the first two weeks of the year, and as 2015 has been as massive year of awareness for the boys from Brooklyn, they close the year with a visual for the best song from their LP.
The band bikes around Brooklyn as art follows them popping up on street corners and walls as footage of individual members performing the song at a skate spot appear in-between. A song made for the night and the light-hearted, constant nature of the objects in the sky, the band gathers a crew of friends and enjoys the evening — and they should. If 2015 was any indication, 2016 can only prove Phony Ppl should be in the ears of the masses.
