Fresh from receiving a 2016 GRAMMY nod for the Kendrick Lamar-featured remix of “Classic Man,” Wondaland Records artist Jidenna follows up his 2Dope “Long Live The Chief” (which is now available on Spotify) with a pair of new offerings: “Extraordinaire” and “Knickers.”
While “Extradoinaire” is an uptempo track that is aimed at the clubs, the song is deceptively uplifting along the same vein as Kendrick’s “Alright” with its inspirational hook: “Extraordinaire, extraordinaire, ain’t nobody around here that’s ordinaire.” Meanwhile, “Knickers” is what Jidenna refers to as his “swank” sound, employing a unique play on words throughout. The two songs are warm-ups to Jidenna’s debut album, which is slated to arrive sometime in 2016.
