In 2013, Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip joined forces to release an incredible project called The Abstract And The Dragon. Now, nearly two years later to the day, The Dragon (Busta) returns with a solo conquest—because The Abstract Went On Vacation.

I thought Q-Tip’s absence would force the anticipation levels to waver a bit, but then Busta previewed a few tracks on Instagram and it was clear he was more than capable of holding it down.

With The Abstract on an island somewhere, Busta cooked up 13 new tracks with a guest-list that features a healthy mix of both mainstream and indie artists—an art he mastered on 1996’s The Coming and 1997’s When Disaster Strikes—including Chance the Rapper, Fabolous, Raekwon, DOOM, Roc Marci, BJ the Chicago Kid, Black Milk, Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa, Mary J Blige, and more. Hell, there’s even an all-out Leaders Of The New School reunion to help close it out.

Busta might not be the only artist releasing a project today, but it’s safe to say The Return Of The Dragon: The Abstract Went On Vacation will stack up against the rest.
