Whenever Kendrick Lamar drops by a late-night television show, he always seems to one-up himself from his previous appearances. And that’s crazy considering his jaw-dropping impromptu performance on Colbert’s final show on Comedy Central was topped with an even better act, a medley of To Pimp A Butterfly songs, on the comedian’s new show on CBS.

King Kendrick is set to stop by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, so every ounce of my being is hoping for another Kendrick Lamar x The Roots collaboration. When promoting good kid, m.a.a.d. city, they joined for a performance of “Swimming Pools.” Kendrick usually brings his own band with him, but the jazziness and musical depth of the Comptonite’s latest effort is right in The Roots’ wheelhouse.

Tune in to NBC at 11:35 p.m. EST for his guest appearance.
