The term “Free Gucci” will, apparently, take on a whole new meaning in 2016.
Having been incarcerated since 2013 on a variety of assault and weapons charges, Radric Davis – known to the world as Gucci Mane – will, according to a recent Instagram post by his label, 1017 Records, is scheduled to be released from the United States Penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana sometime in March 2016.
This was later backed up by an employee of 1017 Records on Twitter:

Whether or not this report is true remains to be seen. In 2014 Gucci Mane accepted a plea deal that sentenced him to some 39 months in jail, which was reduced to 29 months due to previous time he had already spent in the system. Because of this, he was originally thought to have been freed sometime in the second half of 2016. Musically, it’s almost as if he has never been locked up in the first place, since he has released over 20 projects since 2013. But perhaps he will make it home in the Spring, just in time to make it a hot summer.
