In all honesty, nobody gave Memphis Bleek his just due. Tapped to lead Roc-A-Fella Records into the future, critics gave Bleek the same lofty expectations as his mentor JAY Z. While he may not have as dense a catalog as Jay’s, Memphis does have many notable moments in his career.

Bleek returns with a new single, “So Different,” guesting fellow Brooklynite Manolo Rose. With a backdrop provided by JCLYDE that sounds culled from Freeway’s Fear of a Free Planet sessions, Bleek flexes his chops while Manolo delivers an entertaining hook dripping with hilarious narcissism. Whether or not Bleek will release a new project in 2016 remains to be seen (he has been teasing The Process since 2011), but this cut is a good start.
