While it appears that Top Dawg Entertainment has been making moves for a short period of time, the reality is that it was been a decade-long marathon for the successful Los Angeles-bred label. So, their in-house one man band man, multi-hyphenate MixedByAli began sharing musical history lessons of TDE’s discography with his weekly throwback mix, and now the engineer-mixer-tour DJ has liberated a second volume of the series.
Perhaps as a precursor to the multiple projects TDE president Dave Free recently recently announced (for those keeping score: Isaiah Rashad, SZA, ScHoolboy Q and Ab-Soul), Ali revisits albums and mixtapes ranging from Control System to Setbacks, from Jay Rock’s version of “How To Rob” and everything in between.
