It may be 2016 but it appears that Cash Money Records is, in fact, trying to take it over for the ’99 and the 2000 once again.

After Lil Wayne spent most of 2015 trying to separate himself from the label and its head honcho Birdman, it seems that everything has been smoothed out as they were caught on camera – alongside Drake – at a party on New Year’s Eve. Now it appears that Mannie Fresh plans to go all in on a full-fledged Hot Boys album.

With Juvenile by his side, Mannie Fresh spoke to AllHipHop while at the annual CES tradeshow in Las Vegas, revealing that he, Juvenile and Wayne have teamed up a collaborative project.

“It was a long time coming,” Mannie says. “It was more so the fans. The fans demanded this.”

While that sounds like great news to fanatics of vintage Cash Money music (there was also a Hot Boys reunion, of sorts, at Lil Wayne’s LilWeezyana Festival in August 2015), it would be remiss to forget about the other two pieces of the puzzle: BG and Turk. While Turk – who was released from prison in 2012 – has worked with Wayne and Juvenile since his release, BG has unfortunately been in prison since 2012, sentenced to 14 years for gun possession and witness tampering. Still, out of pure nostalgic purposes, this forthcoming project should garner a great reaction from music heads worldwide.
