With Consequence‘s A Good Comeback Story set to arrive on iTunes on Friday, the former G.O.O.D. Music signee grabs his cousin Q-Tip for “No Matter What.”

Though his EP is dubbed as a “comeback,” the lyrical content on Cons’ new tune revolves around experiences from the past. “The O.G. gave you the game, and then you had to take it, turn it into a name,” the Queens native spits before revealing that “no matter what,” you’ll get snitched on once you achieve a little bit of success — in the rap or in the hustle. The hood never changes.

Though Cons’ recent singles, “That Dude” and “Make Believe,” seem to be a have angst toward the fact the rap world and life aren’t how they used to be, he has an appreciation he’s making and releasing solid music once again.
