Eryn Allen Kane – “How Many Times”

blame it on Patrick Glynn January 18, 2016

Eryn Allen Kane debuted herself to the masses with her Aviary: Act 1 EP is November. It featured four songs showing off her booming and transcending vocals with songs like “Have Mercy” and “Piano Song.” The Chitown songstress is back, though, with the first single, “How Many Times,” off the second act of her Aviary EP.

The first act of her EP ended with a sense of hopefulness and the ability the break free from whatever metaphorical emotional cage she was stuck in. If “How Many Times” is any indication, the second act is set to take a dark and fervent turn as Kane questions “how many lies” she (and, in a general sense, her community) have to deal with. As bass drums bang below an ominous piano scale, Kane delivers one of her more soulful and raspy pleas yet.

Aviary: Act 2 is set to drop February 2. Stream “How Many Times” below.

UPDATE: The day after releasing the song, Kane performed it live on local television in her hometown of Chicago. Naturally, she killed it. Watch the performance below.
