Both Ferg and Future have reached new levels of fame, success and bank account security over the last couple years, and the A$AP member’s new song captures perfectly the emotion that comes with a new level: affluence. The ensuing video, which Ferg said was ready to drop when the song did in December, captures that with fire, women, cars, expensive clothes and and overall craziness that you can only afford when you’re on the level the two rappers are on.
Ferg spoke to Noisey, who premiered the video, about the song and type of video he made:
“Future and I have a lot in common – we’re mutual fans of each other’s work and we both love the grind of getting a lot of work done. The ‘New Level’ video is a perfect representation of that grind with sports driven cameos by Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gorden, Olympic fencer Daryl Homer, and BMX biker Nigel Sylvester. We all came from the bottom to new levels in our careers. Also, I heard many athletes turn up to my music before their games so I dedicate this video to them.”
