Boosie Badazz – “The Rain” (Video)

blame it on Meka January 19, 2016

To say Boosie Badazz has been going through it throughout his entire career would be a severe understatement. After being freed from prison in 2014 after spending a little over five years in prison for drug charges, Boosie would announce in November 2015 that he had kidney cancer, and undergone a surgery to remove it. While the procedure was successful, it has undoubtedly left Boosie more world weary, and it is evidenced in his new album Out My Feelings (In My Past).

The album’s leadoff track, “The Rain,” now receives a matching set of visuals. True to its namesake, the video is wet, gloomy, and somber. Boosie is walking through a graveyard while rapping about the recent trials and tribulations he has gone through, and it’s difficult to not at the very least feel something when watching it. On the positive side, Boosie recently announced that he will release a collaborative album with Master P’s brother C-Murder titled Penitentiary Chances. Out on April 15th, one can wonder how the two will craft the LP on account of C-Murder currently spending the rest of his life in prison.
