Call this the “remix you never knew you wanted to hear.”

It was widely reported that, in 2013 and during the Yeezus recording sessions, Kanye West went into the studio with Extended Back Meat herself, Miley Cyrus, to work on a remix to his single “Black Skinhead.” Naturally, that drew a lot of collective head-scratching from fans, and the song was relegated to rumor status… until now. An enterprising type (maybe that cousin Kanye has been recently, lovingly, talking about?) has actually revealed the track for the Internets (this is clearly not a G.O.O.D. Friday 2.0 offering), which also includes Travi$ Scott.

Unfinished, this version of “Black Skinhead” features Young Flatback interpolating Tears For Fears’ 1985 classic “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” over a backdrop that’s decidedly less apocalyptic-sounding than the original, with La Flame’s familiar ad-libs strewn throughout. While it may not change people’s minds or feelings about Kanye’s most experimental album to date, it does provide a brief look into what could have been instead.
