Although the name Obie Iyoha may not immediately ring a bell, when hearing the first few bars emanate from the Chisom Uzosike-produced, afrobeat-themed “Lost In America,” some fans will take notice. That’s because the 25-year old savvy emcee who you hear is a part of the once mysterious Hip-Hop collective known as The Black Opera.

After making their presence known some years ago, the Michigan native, born to Nigerian immigrants has set out on a solo journey, exploring the Midnight Run which just so happens to be the title of his new album, out now. With a sure fire gift to “move the crowd,” Iyoha delivers the sobering lead single, “Lost In America” (mentioned above) which you can stream below.
