With the news of Gucci Mane possibly returning home from another long prison stint as early as March 2016, producer and frequent collaborator Zaytoven unviled a gift for both he and Gucci’s fans: a selection of songs the two of them completed from Zay’s early days, Mama’s Basement.
Done during the days when Zaytoven’s studio was actually in his mother’s basement, the sound is from the “So Icy”-era of Guwop, when he himself was a local star with a burgeoning buzz. Some songs unmastered, some unfinished, but the entire project is a look into what eventually became a flourishing relationship between the producer and rapper.
