Lil Wayne – “Cry Out (Amen)”

Back during Lil Wayne‘s epic early Dedication mixtape run, a very rough and unfinished version of a song, “Amen” released to much fanfare. Now, a decade after its original leak producer Streetrunner returns with the song once again, remastered and mixed but under a different name “Cry Out” (the title “Amen” was used for a freestyle over Meek Mill’s song of the same name, on Dedication 4).

The song is a nostalgic reminder of when Wayne was at his most focused, when his claims of being the “best rapper alive since the best retired” were legitimate. While it’s almost a certain sure bet that Wayne may never return to this level of laser-sharp focus, it’s a great throwback addition nonetheless.
