Being honest, Coldplay hasn’t really struck a chord with me since their Viva la Vida days. Personal opinion aside, they are still one of the most popular bands on the planet and they will take their talents to Santa Clara, CA on February 7th to perform during the Super Bowl 50’s halftime concert. With rumors persisting that both Beyoncé and Bruno Mars will join them during the spectacle, Coldplay has released a video for their collaborative effort with the former, “Hymn For The Weekend,” taken from their eighth album A Head Full Of Dreams.
The Ben Mor-directed clip is a kaleidoscopic affair: Virtually every discovered color is utilized throughout as frontman Chris Martin travels throughout Mumbai. Meanwhile, Beyoncé is depicted as a living deity of sorts, coming in from tim to time to add her own vocals to the track. It’s a great, if unintentional, promotion for the annual Holi Festival of Colours, which occurs in March, just before the start of Spring.
