Alessia Cara – “Here (Remix)” f. Logic

Toronto songbird Alessia Cara notched a number-on hit song in her antisocial anthem “Here,” a crowning achievement considering that it is perhaps one of the least “pop” pop songs out now. Now, as she continues to tour in support of her debut album Know It All, she revisits her breakout single with some help from her Def Jam labelmate Logic.

Replacing her second verse, which was about being an anti-social pessimist standing next to a guy who couldn’t hold his liquor, Logic plays another partygoer on the other side of the spectrum, conversing with a gold-digger who wants nothing more than what’s in his bank account. I’ll admit, I prefer the original version more, especially when there’s parts of “Here (Remix)” where the vocals are oddly omitted. Either way…
