Closed Sessions producer BoatHouse has made steady waves over the last year building is brand via the Chicago music scene. Working with the likes of WebsterX, Allan Kingdom, Kweku Collins and more, the producer dabbles in a cross between hip-hop, ambient and electronic. His newest EP, Hibernation, has BoatHouse honing in on those sounds for a chilling four-track experience.

As the name might imply, the sound throughout Hibernation trends more toward calming and sullen than uptempo or lively. Features arrive from Allan Kingdom, Drea Smith and fellow label-mates Kweku Collins and Kipp Stone.

“‘Hibernation’ is inspired by the season and the feeling of being inside when it is cold outside,” said BoatHouse. “When it comes to making music, I find myself wanting to leave the creative space less and less when the weather gets cold. I’m sure I’m not alone, so whatever you choose to do with your time of hibernation for the remainder of the winter, I hope this EP becomes a part of your soundtrack.”
