Last week, during his NYFW reveal-slash-grandiose listening session for Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo, West announced that he had signed 18-year-old Brooklyn rapper Desiigner – who is behind the burgeoning hit (and Future soundalike) “Panda” – to G.O.O.D. Music. Naturally, as the rest of the world is now getting introduced to the musician, fellow Brooklyn natives Lil Kim and Maino add their sensibilities to his single.
Like Desiigner, Kim raps with a hushed tone while Maino employs his cadence. It’s quite difficult to imagine that Desiigner is from Brooklyn, but judging from past singles from 2 Milly, Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel it’s another signifier of the new sound of the Kings County.
