Coincidentally, I’d been thinking of the music of Yuna this morning, and like that I was treated to some new music from the Malaysian singer-songwriter.
After a bit of a hiatus, Yuna returns with the first single from her forthcoming album Chapters. Slated to arrive May 20th, the first offering connects her with the living legend DJ Premier for “Places To Go.” While the song keeps in tune with her hopeful & positive lyrics, her soft and melodic vocals are backed by Primo’s trademark vintage boom-bap which gives them an almost new and refreshing sound.
