In a world full of up-and-coming talent, especially stemming from the hip-hop sphere, Kweku Collins has stayed toward the top of my list of must-listens. After being introduced to the Chicago native via his Say It Here, While It’s Safe EP last summer, Collins has delivered a steady diet of loosies (“Delilah,” “Hoopdi“) between his EP and his next project, Nat Love. At the end of last week, the singer/rapper/producer shared the project’s first single, the self-produced “Ghost.”

On the new tune, Collins delves into the often-touched-on “skeletons in the closet” theme, using a haunting and bleak soundscape to survey his feelings. Touching on his relationships — with people and music — the young Collins discusses trying to not pay attention to whatever’s haunted his past while he tries to focus on his lifestyle of growing success.

Nat Love is set to arrive April 8. Pre-order tickets to the album’s release show (April 15) in Chicago, and stream “Ghost” below.
