Rihanna – “Work” f. Drake (Video)

blame it on Meka February 22, 2016

I don’t have any familial or genealogical history from any part of the Caribbean, so at times I have to resort to various lyrics websites to totally understand what Rihanna is saying in her new single “Work.” The one thing I do know about people from the Caribbean: they throw some of the best parties in the world. Go to Carnival in either Jamaica or Trinidad & Tobago for proof.

If you can’t afford to do that? Simply go to a bashment party, such as the one on full display in the visual treatment for Rih’s ANTI single. Filmed by Director X (what’s funny? I suggested that the sneak peeks of the video reminded me of Sean Paul’s “Get Busy,” and it turns out that the two videos are directed by the same guy), the clip – which is actually two videos in one – takes place in Toronto (same as Sean Paul’s!), in the basement level of a well-known restaurant The Real Jerk (those prices are about to go sky-high now). The whole thing is a dynamic clash of colors, hot and heavy dutty wines, and a proud display of the Caribbean culture. Not to mention…

Look at the stress on Aubrey’s face.
