Asher Roth has been through his fair share of drama throughout his career in rap music. While he notched a platinum single in 2009’s “I Love College,” he was pigeon-holed in… well… that scumbag genre of “frat rap” that artists like Mike Stud and Huey Mack have employed throughout their music. However, that is only a small, misguided portion of what makes Asher Paul Roth, Asher Paul Roth.
Sitting down with the brothers Rosenthal of ItsTheReal, Roth speaks on his musical journey thus far. While with them, Roth spoke on his relationships with both Scooter Braun and Justin Bieber, the remix of “I Love College” that never seen the light of day, working with The Neptunes, and more. Things also get rather somber, as Roth talks about his bouts with depression, his newfound independence, and more as well.
Asher, Nottz and Travis Barker’s Rawther is finally out now.
