DJ Khaled‘s We The Best Radio is quickly rising in ranks in Beats 1 Radio’s eclectic programming. Since its debut, the bombastic personality has invited and debuted projects from the likes of Future and French Montana, and on his most recent episode he had another special guest: Nas.
While he didn’t premiere the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2012’s Life Is Good, the two had a lengthy conversation instead. While Nas did mention that he is somewhat working on new music, he spoke in more detail about the music of the past: namely, a certain track from The Notorious B.I.G’s seminal debut, Ready To Die. Nas would admit that he was supposed to be featured on the album’s third track, “Gimme The Loot,” which Biggie ultimately would alter his voice to portray the “guest” instead. He then goes on to say that there were talks of, and and a studio session for, the remix to the song, but once the Chocolate Thai got in the way…
Anyways, it’s a fascinating listen (the whole thing comes in at roughly 37:30 minutes), if you can get past some of the nonsensical inquiries Khaled proposes. Either way, the entire thing can be checked out below.
