All signs seem to be pointing toward some more activity and, hopefully, a new project from Jay Dot Rain. After “Ridin’ Round” town with Ye Ali, the Alabama native delivers two ambitious tracks of his own, “Growing Pains” and “Underrated Overachiever.”

Coming with the same fire and motivation he did on The Dixie Renaissance, Jay Dot uses two variant mind sets of becoming successful in the rap game with the two loosies. With “Growing Pains,” he asks for time and patience when it comes to honing his craft. While he recognizes he’s no Kendrick Lamar, he’s fully confident in his abilities to reach a higher level of power. That ideology is somewhat contrasted with “Underrated Overachiever,” though, as he puts the self-doubt aside as he boasts with confident lyricism.
