Ash Riser, who at one point was a frequent collaborator with Kendrick Lamar, follows up his HOME EP with a new loosie, “Finally.”

In a life full of doing stuff for other people, the Cali native decides he’s finally going to focus on himself. He recognizes “all my homies are blowin’ up, now I think it’s time for me,” and he’s right. Between the likes of BJ the Chicago Kid, Jhené Aiko, members of TDE and Kendrick himself, it seems everyone who’s worked in that clique of artists is now getting their due time — except for Ash Riser. The man’s got some chops, and he’s got something going with this fusion of booming, slow-tempo production and his vocals.
