Revisiting his Subtrap LP released back in August, Jay IDK releases the visuals for “God Said Trap.”
The DMV native’s LP took the view points of several different characters: himself, a woman, Jon Jon and King Trappy III, among other personalities, and with his latest video takes, he takes the form of the head honcho of a drug ring, King Trappy, as he and his crew ruthlessly cook up and serve copious amounts of baking soda. This character believes his meaning of life on Earth is to trap, so he traps.
There are some interesting visual aspects and edits in the video (Ronald Regan — a leader in the crack epidemic in the 80s — seeming to have a large influence on King Trappy’s decision to serve; when he says he’s “outtie” if the police come, he hops out of an Audi), and you can watch it above.
