All eight and a half minutes of the video feature JMSN’s face and dangling, Barry Bonds-esque earring up-close and personal in the close-range shot as he sings along to the two songs from his upcoming album. It’s not exactly the most fun to look at a face for nearly nine minutes straight, but it allows you to capture the raw emotion of the Michigan native’s feelings stemming from the songs. (Remember Janelle Monaé’s “Cold War” video? That’s the pinnacle of this close-up, emotional music video vibe.)
