Apart from The Roots, Detroit’s Will Sessions and Ski Beatz’s go-to band The Senseis, no one is really capturing the essence of Hip-Hop music in live form like New Haven, CT four-piece band Political Animals (PACT). Today, the talented foursome make their official debut here at the DopeHouse — and they’ve brought with them quite the funky beast.
Frontman/emcee Sotorios, along with DJ Neb, bassist Jen Harper and drummer Trenton Wright are just as in tune with each other as James Brown and The J.B.’s were in the 70s, with each skilled musician showing off how in-the-pocket they are.
For their new single “Who Want What,” the four connected with director Shane McLellan to shoot these bugged out visuals that bend and twist even the most basic fundamentals and laws of physics. Watch it up top.
