J.R. – “Today” (Video)

Fresh off the release of his Gang Season EP, St. Louis rapper J.R. is back with a new video for “Today.”

“When me and Squat get in the studio, our records always come out crazy,” J.R. told The FADER. “It’s actually Squat singing the the background vocals on the record saying, ‘I live for today.’ He’s up next as far as producers. We knew we had one as soon as I laid the hook down.”

Inspired by Ice Cube’s classic, the Rick Nyce-directed clip follows a day in the life of J.R. as he spends bedroom time with a tattooed honey, shoots hoops with some kids, whips a Lamborghini around the city, and dumps a few bodies in the street—you know, the usual.
