To celebrate the pending 20 year anniversary of his classic debut, Soul On Ice, Ras Kass is planning to make it a trilogy with the release of two new projects in 2016—Intellectual Property (the prequel) in June, followed by Soul On Ice II in December.

Kicking off the indie campaign, the West Coaster recruits Freddie Foxxx and Onyx’s Fredro Starr and Sticky Fingaz for the tough-as-nails lead single, “Downward Spiral.” Produced by UK’s ILLinformed, the head-banger is a direct attack on all the bullshit going on in the game.

Press play below and be on the lookout for Intellectual Property dropping in June. The tracklist is being finalized as I type, but you can expect production and features from KRS-One, Bun B, Statik Selektah, Apollo Brown, OC, AFRO, Kurupt, Snowgoons, Killah Priest, Apathy, and others.

Soul On Ice II is slated for release in December 2016. Partly consisting of previously unreleased vintage 1995 recordings and audio, rare remixes, some remixes from legendary hip hop producers, and brand new tracks inspired by SOI; already completed tracks include features and production from artists such as Diamond D, Immortal Technique, V. Bozeman, K-Rino, Apollo Brown, Alchemist, Vinnie Paz, Styles P, MOP, Faith Evans, and more.

Rassy also recently stopped by Tony Touch’s Shade45 studio to kick some bars for Toca Tuesdays.
