Anderson .Paak was active as hell at the recent SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. He said in a recent interview he did 13 shows over the course of the week (and one unforgettable interview with Nardwuar). One of those was gracing NPR’s showcase — which also consisted of a rousing set from Vince Staples — with his backing band, The Free Nationals.

Kicking off with his swag-oozing, tempered verse on Jonwayne’s “Green Light,” the Oxnard, Calif., native performed song from Venice, Malibu and NxWorries across his 40-minute set. Whether the other 12 performances were as long or swaggy and confident as this (they most certainly were), .Paak was an continues to be a must-see whatever city he rolls through.
