Noname – “Freedom Interlude”

The artist known as Noname Gypsy has dropped the second word from her now-former moniker, and she now goes by simply Noname. In her first release since the change, she delivers “Freedom Interlude,” a soft-tempered, soulful tune dedicated to feminine beauty and independence.

We’re still waiting on a debut project from the Chicago native since first hearing her on Chance the Rapper’s Acid Rap, and her offbeat flows and with her relaxed delivery are definitely special. While the production (done by Phoelix and Saba) only enhances the overall vibe of the interlude, Noname, just as she’s done with nearly all her verses to date, doesn’t stick to your everyday rhyme pattern and flow assumed to be delivered over the beat.
