The Alchemist and Havoc have worked extensively when it comes to curating sounds for Mobb Deep. Together, as one individual entity, though? Not so much.
That’s all about to change as the two are set to release a joint project, The Silent Partner, on May 20 via Babygrande Records. Over the project’s 11 tracks, the two will work largely by themselves, but Prodigy, Method Man and Cormega are set to make appearances on The Silent Partner.
Today, the duo liberated the project’s first single, “Maintain (Fuck How You Feel),” and it’s really got me convinced that even 46 years from now when Havoc is 87, sitting on his porch waiting for any opportunity to get off his rocker, he would still rap about spitting better than you right after making his best move on your girl, and we wouldn’t want it any other way. Rap about what you know, right?
