Recollection has been a big theme in Taylor Bennett‘s music over the past couple months. Whether he’s remembering his late grandmother, reminiscing on his childhood via Broad Shoulders or appreciating his relationship with his brother on the aforementioned project’s title track, Bennett seems to be overtly thankful for where he’s at in life.

That trend continues with “Straight From The Bottom,” where Taylor remembers his beginnings in the rap world. “I came up straight from the bottom, a bottomless pits of a ‘New Chevy‘ verse line,” he raps as he recalls one of his first recorded verses. Taylor’s gotten a little boost from his brother, Chance, but he’s prideful about the fact he’s built his brand largely on his own. But he’s not done yet.
