T-Pain – “Look At Me”

This is some of the most classic T-Pain I’ve heard in a minute.

We’ve been waiting years for the Tallahassee legend’s Stoicville: The Phoenix LP, and he keeps getting delayed. But in the meantime, T-Pain has stayed in the business of delivering music to the people no matter the circumstance. So far this year, Teddy Pain’s dropped the tender and sweet “Officially Yours,” followed by the anti-strip-club anthem, “Hundred Mo Dolla$.” Now, with a a rumored mixtape on the way, Faheem Najm, delivers one of his most vintage-sounding releases in recent memory, “Look At Me.”

Led by bright, uptempo production, T-Pain’s auto-tuned vocals preach love and — more specifically — love in the social media landscape. “You ain’t post something in a minute. I need to see you, baby, you got 15 seconds,” he sings, depicting a girl showcasing her looks to the Internet before turning her attention to T-Pain. “Selfies can be pretty sexy but this song is about those irritating ass selfie videos that girls do where they just stare at the camera not saying anything,” he told Noisey, who premiered the single.

Listen to “Look At Me” below, and don’t be surprised to see another T-Pain mixtape land in the next month or so.
