I frequently find myself having conversations about the early- to mid-Aughts run of The Diplomats. Even as a resident of California, where we literally march to the beats of our own drums, the Dips had a healthy legion of fans out West. And while they did have a brief reunion a few years ago, it appears that things — between Cam’ron and in Jim Jones, particular — have gone astray again.
It’s rather disheartening to see, too. While Jimmy keeps things moving with this release, “Finesse” with Rich Homie Quan, A$AP Ferg and Baby Baby Future, it still makes one wonder what could have truly been.
